The 2014-2015 school year finds me as the PYP English specialist, and the PYP and MYP physical and health education specialist. Acadecapable will remain online, but reflects the work accomplished during the 2013-2014 school year, with the grade 1/2s of Académie de la Capitale. Acadecap Body & Mind to come!
A wonderful visit from a reptile expert last week was taken in by all! Watch the slideshow and enjoy the facial expressions! What a wonderful way to start a Friday. A lovely gift from KN! More comptines for us to learn, to say, to sing! Thank you! Just a sample of our day at the Aviation and Space Museum on Wednesday, April 30th. Have a look in our photos section for the full slideshow. Please check out my photos page for the slideshow from the masquerade ball. Many were reluctant to dance, but they showed their true eco-spirit with original, beautiful, and environmentally friendly masks and costumes. Bravo Acadecap! Check out the link below for fun activities to do instead of homework. http://davidwees.com/content/25-things-kids-can-do-instead-of-homework What a wonderful day of STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths), at Académie de la Capitale! Our grade 1/2s presented their air powered cars to judges, parents, teachers, and the student body. We came away with a better understanding of the scientific method, and got to blow up a lot of balloons in the process. Congratulations to team MB & TM on their 1st place finish! AMN and KN both brought in a part of who they are today, in the form of sweets and sticks! KN, recently back from a trip to Vietnam, brought back some traditional sweets. They received mixed reviews, but we remained open and gave them a try! AMN, while out checking beaver traps with her family, came upon some finely de-barked sticks by perhaps Canada's most iconic symbol - the mighty beaver. Each of us got a stick to bring home! We were so excited to come back from skating and find a special package waiting for us! All the way from P.E.I, MB's grandma and grandpa sent us a care package with some special items from the island. |
